YCA chairman participates in 54 WCO MENA session and the openining of 138 council session



The delegation of Yemen Customs Authority (YCA), headed by Mr. Abdul Hakim Al-Qubati, YCA chairman, participated in the Regional Meeting No. 54 for the North Africa, Near and Middle East region , which was held this morning, Thursday, June 24, via Microsoft Teams platform. He also participated in the opening of the 138th annual meeting of the Council of the World Customs Organization, which will last for three days.
The regional meeting was chaired by Brigadier Jalal Qudah, WCO Vice-President , Regional Representative for MENA, Director General of Jordan Customs.
The general directors of customs of MEAN Region participated in the meeting.
The meeting discussed a number of important topics related to cooperation and coordination between member countries in the region, especially with regard to customs affairs, including coordination between WCO members within the corridors of the World Customs Organization and strengthening the role of the region in WCO activities .
The participants in the meeting expressed their support for the representative of Bahrain, Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, as a WCO president for the second time, and for the continuation of the Director General of Jordan Customs as a regional representative and a vice president.
The candidates of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia were also selected in WCO committees to represent the MENA in the policy, financial and audit committees.
The meeting was attended by Fadl Al-Ban, Director General of International Relations and Cooperation, Abobakr Abdo, manager of International Cooperation, and Ammar Ali, manager of the Automated System, headed by the Authority.
